Standing at 1,343 meters (4,406 ft) above sea level, it is the highest peak in Shivamogga district and is recognized as a Natural Heritage Site. The trek is famous for its dense rainforests, waterfalls, rolling grasslands, and spectacular sunrise and sunset views.Kodachadri can be explored through three different routes:Kodachadri Trek via Hidlumane Falls – 11 km (Most Popular Route)Kodachadri Trek via Nittur – 9 km ascent + 9 km descentKodachadri Jeep Ride & Trek – Available throughout the year (365 days)The Kodachadri Trek (via Hidlumane Falls and Nittur) requires an online entry permit that must be booked through the Aranya Vihara portal. Since permits are limited, we recommend booking 15–20 days in advance to secure your slot.Please note that all trekking routes are subject to the rules and regulations of the Forest Department.
